How it works

How a Plano pickup actually runs

Five steps, all of them online. Nothing about the price is decided on your driveway.

  1. 1

Tell us what needs to go

Start online with your Plano-area address and a rough description. One chair or one warehouse, same beginning.

  2. 2

    Select items or upload photos

Pick from the list, or send photographs. Photographs are faster and give the sharper number.

  3. 3

    Get your estimate

You see the price for the space your load takes before anything is booked in.

  4. 4

    Choose your pickup time

Pick a window from the Plano schedule. Same-day slots show only when they are real.

  5. 5

    We haul it away

The crew loads, sweeps the spot, and separates what can be donated or recycled.

Homes

The room you have stopped opening

Plano houses accumulate quietly. A garage absorbs a decade of storage because there is room to postpone the decision. A spare bedroom becomes the place things go. An old refrigerator moves out to the garage and simply stays there.

None of it is hard to fix — it is just heavy, awkward, and never quite urgent enough to spend a Saturday on. That is the part we take off you.

  • Sofas, sectionals, mattresses and box springs
  • Refrigerators, washers, dryers and freezers
  • Televisions, monitors and old electronics
  • Garage, attic and yard clear-outs
  • Exercise equipment, dismantled on site
  • Curbside piles already waiting outside

Businesses

When the date is set by a lease, not by you

Commercial work in Plano is rarely about volume. It is about a suite being empty by Friday, a unit being re-lettable by Monday, or a build-out that cannot start until the last tenant's fixtures are gone.

  • Office cleanouts and workstation teardowns
  • Cubicle systems dismantled and removed
  • Apartment and rental turnovers
  • Retail fixtures, shelving and signage
  • Warehouse pallets, racking and packaging
  • Recurring accounts, one monthly invoice

Moving

The pile a move leaves behind

Every move produces two categories: what is going on the van, and what everyone quietly agrees is not. The second pile is the one that stalls a handover.

  • Furniture that will not suit the new place
  • Mattresses nobody wants to transport
  • Garage and storage-unit leftovers
  • Flattened boxes and packing material after the move
  • Whatever is still there after the last load

For moving companies

You Move What They’re Keeping. We Haul What They’re Leaving.

Every Plano move day produces the same conversation on the driveway, and it is never in the estimate. Your people are being paid for the hours it costs you, and the vehicle was loaded against a survey that did not include any of this. Hand it over rather than absorbing it.

  • Furniture the customer decides against on the day
  • Mattresses that will not be going to the new address
  • Garage and storage-unit leftovers
  • Items too damaged to be worth transporting
  • Whatever is left after the final load

Renovation & construction

Debris arrives faster than the trades finish

A Plano remodel generates its waste in bursts — demolition day, then cabinets, then flooring, then packaging. Left alone, it fills the garage and the next trade works around it.

  • Kitchen cabinets, countertops and appliance packaging
  • Bathroom vanities, tile, backer board and fittings
  • Carpet, underlay, trim and doors
  • Drywall offcuts, timber and framing waste
  • Retail and office build-out debris
  • Repeat pickups across a multi-week project

Property managers & communities

Turnovers, on the date the lease says

A unit cannot be cleaned until it is empty and cannot be shown until it is cleaned. We work to that sequence rather than around it, and we keep the fire lane clear while we do.

Unit turnovers

Abandoned furniture and belongings out between tenants.

Bulk item pickups

Mattresses and furniture dumped by the compactor.

Common areas

Clubhouse, gym and leasing office furniture refreshes.

One point of contact

Standing schedule, one invoice, no re-explaining the property.

Where it ends up

Most of a load has somewhere better to be

A good deal of what we carry out of a Plano house was never rubbish. A dryer that still runs, a sofa nobody wanted to move, a box of household goods that was never opened — all of it is more use to a family that needs it than to a hole in the ground. Metal and electronics have recycling routes a tip run simply drives past.

So loads get separated rather than tipped whole: donation and resale where there is somewhere to take it, recycling for what qualifies, and disposal for what genuinely has no other route. We do not publish a diversion percentage, because the honest answer is that it depends entirely on the load.

Pricing

You are paying for truck space, not for hours

Most people booking this have never booked it before, and the pricing model is not obvious from the outside. Here it is in full.

This is volume work. The number on your quote tracks the share of the truck your load will occupy once it has been packed properly — which is why a photograph is enough to price from, and why a crew that finishes early has not saved you anything.

The scale climbs from a single item and a minimum load through the usual fractions to a whole truck, and your quote names the one it is priced against. Three things push a job past pure volume: dense material such as tile or concrete, items that carry a disposal cost of their own, and anything that must be taken apart or carried a long way.

How loads are described

  • Single itemOne sofa, one mattress, one appliance
  • Minimum loadThe smallest practical dispatch
  • 1/4 loadA small bedroom or a modest curbside pile
  • 1/2 loadA single-bay garage, or an office suite
  • 3/4 loadA large garage or a whole-room clear-out
  • Full loadA full property, or a heavy debris job

Actual prices are set in the quote and booking flow on the Junk Koala platform, against your specific load.

FAQ

What Plano customers ask before booking

If the answer you need is not here, the Plano branch will take the question on the phone.

How much does junk removal cost in Plano?
The price follows the space your load takes up in the truck once it is packed properly, described in fractions from a single item and a minimum load up to a full truck. Weight matters on a few things — tile, concrete, plaster — and a small number of items carry a disposal fee. Send photographs and you get a firm number back before booking rather than a range.
Do you actually come the same day?
Sometimes, and the booking flow will tell you honestly. Same-day and next-day windows appear only when the Plano schedule genuinely has room, so you are choosing from real availability instead of being promised a slot that then moves.
Does someone need to be at the property?
Only if the load is inside. For curbside pickups, driveway piles or an unlocked garage you can leave it and go — send a photograph showing exactly what is going, and you get confirmation once it is cleared.
Will the crew carry things down from upstairs?
Yes. Stairs, attics, back gardens and long carries from the rear of a garage are all part of a normal job, not extras. Mention the floor and whether there is a lift when you book so the right number of people turn up.
What will you not take?
Wet paint, solvents, fuel, pesticides, asbestos, medical waste and pressurised tanks all need a household hazardous waste route rather than a truck. Everything else on the items list — furniture, appliances, electronics, renovation debris, yard waste — is standard.
Which cities does the Plano branch cover?
Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Murphy, Parker, Wylie, Lucas, Fairview, The Colony, Carrollton, Little Elm and Prosper. Dallas, Garland, Mesquite, Richardson, Addison and Farmers Branch are handled by our Dallas branch, so if you are there you want Junk Koala Dallas instead.
Can a business set up a recurring account?
Yes. Property managers, apartment communities, movers, contractors and retail operators can run standing pickups through one contact and one monthly invoice rather than booking each job from scratch.
